With a vision for growth and innovation, Balbinder rebranded to House 2 Home Furnishing in 2007 and expanded to multiple locations. This success in retail led to ventures in manufacturing with BC Pin Furniture and property development with Wave Developments.
Today, Balbinder leads Clearway Site Services, specializing in retaining walls, pavers, excavation, and custom home building—continuing a legacy of quality and customer satisfaction.
At just 26 years old, Balbinder Johal opened Factory Direct Furniture in Chilliwack—a modest 5,000 square foot store that would become the foundation of a diverse business portfolio. This first venture showcased Balbinder's natural business acumen and customer-focused approach.
Success led to growth as Factory Direct Furniture moved to a significantly larger 26,000 square foot location on Luckauck Way in Chilliwack, expanding both inventory and customer base.
The business evolved into House 2 Home Furnishing, reflecting a broader vision for home solutions. This period marked significant expansion with the opening of a second location in Abbotsford, serving more communities throughout British Columbia.
Demonstrating versatility in business ventures, Balbinder formed Wave Developments and successfully completed a 10-townhouse development project in Prince George at 6713 Westmount Drive, establishing credentials in property development.
After selling the retail furniture businesses, Balbinder acquired a furniture manufacturing facility, establishing BC Pin Furniture. The company specialized in crafting pine bedroom suites for furniture retailers across the region, controlling quality from production to delivery.
Following the sale of BC Pin Furniture, Balbinder returned to property development with a focus on custom home building. This expertise evolved into the formation of Clearway Site Services, offering comprehensive solutions in retaining walls, pavers, excavation, and custom home construction.
